Establishes that Vigny's own conception of fate or destiny – "C'était écrit" – sets the state for the writer's paraphrases of Scripture, the epigraphs that literally punctuate Cinq-Mars and his translation – adaptations of Shakespeare. Focus on Vigny's transtextual practices shows that Vigny is a poet "voué à la réécriture." (In French)
