Some Similarities of Poetic Expression between Millevoye and Chenier

The direct influence of André Chenier's poetry on the work of Charles Millevoye is demonstrated by indicating similarities of poetic expression in the two poets' work. It is shown that this influence is likely the resutl of Millevoye's familiarity with Chenier's unpublished manuscripts. (EHC)
