Zola, poète du XIXème, prophète du XXIème siècle

Treatment of prophecy in the third of Zola's Les Quatre Evangiles (1899-1902), Travail (1901). At the end of Travail, the first part of the third dream of Suzanne foretells the first World War. The second dream of Sœurette foresees the Revolutions of the Mensheviks (Kerensky) and the Bolsheviks (Lenin). The first dream of Josine, concerning the "Grande République des Etats-Unis," announces in fact the experiences of the current Russian socialist regime! The second part of Suzanne's dream predicts the Second World War, and balance of terror, condition of an eternal May First, inaugurated as of 1866 by the American people. (In French) (GMMG)
