Le Poète à sa fenêtre: dualisme et errance métaphysique dans la poésie française du dix-neuvième siécle
Studies the repercussions of the Kantian subject-object scission in the four works of Sainte-Beuve, Baudelaire, the early Mallarmé and Rodenbach. The claim is that the chronic dualism of the Western psyche is to be found in these works as a recurrent "schizomorphic" structure recording the loss of an "anthropocosmic" unity. (PDL)
